Cristina Casali studied Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art. She began her career in music as Assistant Designer on productions for MTV, The Smash Hits Awards and Channel 4's The White Room. She also staged a number of events for music artists Mariah Carey and Aerosmith.
She graduated into films via the Art Direction and Set Decoration Departments on Hideous Kinky (Gillies McKinnon) and Alexander (Oliver Stone). Her break into Production Design came in 2007 on The Oxford Murders (Alex De La Iglesia) followed by Red Riding in The Year Of Our Lord 1974 (Julian Jarrold) which formed part of the mult-award winning Red Riding Trilogy for Revolution Films. Her work was nominated for a Production Design BAFTA.
Cristina's talent as Designer took her to Washington for the Oscar nominated film In The Loop (Armando Iannucci). She has since worked on film and TV all over the world including Vietnam, South Africa, Morocco, Kenya and Ukraine.
The Death of Stalin (Armando Iannucci) is her very latest project, the film has stimulated much press coverage around the world.
Cristina has just been nominated for a BIFA award as Production Designer for The Death of Stalin.
